Recording songs for weddings

A simple recording setup but it works!

A funny thing happened back in 2019…

One of my regular enquiries through my Facebook page wasn’t asking me to play at a wedding. Or rather it was but not in the usual sense.

The enquiry was to see if I’d be able to record a song for a bridal entrance…

Why hadn’t this occurred to me before? Or rather it had but not in the way I was now envisaging it. I’ve always thought in terms of solo guitar performances and have had recording an album of my arrangements on the back burner for far too long now. Now though, I was envisaging lush arrangements with as many guitars as I needed (or indeed, how many logic can cope with - answer, lots) to provide a huge musical landscape for a walk down the aisle.

But why would anyone even need a recording of a song that already exists?

Why would anyone need a recording of a song that is readily available and incredibly easy to put on a CD or memory stick?

My response to that is because it IS out there and readily available. Anyone can take a song and press play for everyone to hear the song they’ve all heard before.

So imagine a version of the same song that is personal to you, arranged to your specifications and is crafted and recorded specially for YOU. What’s more is that the recording is yours to do with as you wish. It will fit perfectly on a photographers showreel of your wedding photos and I promise will be talked about by your guests for a long time after the wedding.
