Scales
What are scales?
Scales are groups of notes that when played together form different feelings within the listener
Scales define the tonality of the songs (major or minor - happy or sad)
They are the building blocks for the chords used within a song
Scales are also the only notes used by the singer or lead instrument player to sing or play the tune, as long as the song remains diatonic
They are helpful to practise to increase dexterity and control of a musical instrument
They will also develop your musical ear and your knowledge of your instrument

Major scales
They sound happy (when you play them right)
Minor scales
They sound sad (especially if you play them wrong!)
