Scales
What are scales?
- Scales are groups of notes that when played together form different feelings within the listener
- Scales define the tonality of the songs (major or minor - happy or sad)
- They are the building blocks for the chords used within a song
- Scales are also the only notes used by the singer or lead instrument player to sing or play the tune, as long as the song remains diatonic
- They are helpful to practise to increase dexterity and control of a musical instrument
- They will also develop your musical ear and your knowledge of your instrument
