Grades are a great way of measuring your progress and also count toward UCAS points if you choose to go on to university. Personally, I went on to Salford university who insisted I had Grade 8 guitar before they would let me on to the music course!

The books are a mix of pieces written for the grades and also famous songs that you may or may not have heard before. Learning what goes in to each piece such as the techniques involved, the harmony used and some nice tricks that can all be used elsewhere are always a great addition to your musical journey.
