Learn Guitar online with me!

I have been a professional music educator since 2007 and have taught students from the age of 4 to 70!

As well as private teaching I have also taught in primary & secondary schools and also in higher education.

Since 2020, I have been teaching online via zoom and continue to teach from home in this way. I have a vast collection of resources that I have collected and created over the years that i can show on screen and also email to students.

I create a lot of arrangements of songs for students and also create backing tracks to practise with where needed.

FAQ’s

Why do I need a guitar teacher when I have YouTube?

YouTube is all well and good to learn songs but there will never be any substitute for a teacher to point things out. A good teacher can break down a song a little more for the individual student. Maybe there’s a certain technique that the student hasn’t quite got to grips with yet? Maybe they need some exercises to help build up to that difficult chord change or massive string bend?

Do you teach acoustic or electric?

Both! They both have the same notes in the same place but the techniques involved vary.

Which musical styles do you teach?

I teach all styles. I have played in pretty much every style over 25+ years of playing and I am also constantly learning.

Do you teach music theory too?

Yes, music theory is a constant in my lessons as it joins everything together. I can also help with music theory on it’s own if you are studying for GCSE/A level/degree or a music theory grade exam.

Can I choose when my lesson will be?

Lessons are available whenever we are both free. We can discuss the best time and day before any payments are made.

Are lessons in-person or online?

All lessons are currently online only as this works easier for both teacher and student. No travel is involved and all resources are easily passed to the student via message or email

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, as with most teachers I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If lessons are cancelled at least 24 hours in advance then the lesson will not be charged. If it is cancelled within 24 hours of the start time then the full payment will be due.

Do you have recent DBS certificate?

Yes, I have a DBS certificate available to view if required.
